    Baseball

    Last week’s results: Beat Gardendale, 7-0; lost to Helena, 6-3; beat Austin, 4-3.

    This week’s schedule: Monday vs. Oak Mountain; Tuesday vs. Pelham; Saturday vs. American Christian Academy.

    Notes: In the win over Gardendale, Sam Pearce threw seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out nine, and Myles Brown was 3-for-4. The Warriors outhit Helena, 6 to 4. Breydon Edmondson threw four innings, allowing six hits and striking out five, in the win over Austin. Andrew South recorded the save in that game, while J.C. Parker and Chris Miranda each had two hits.

     

    Softball

    Last week: Lost to Tuscaloosa Hillcrest, 3-1; beat Vestavia Hills, 18-5.

    This week: Monday at Moody; Tuesday vs. Jemison; Thursday at Briarwood Christian.

    Notes: Bailey Whitfield had six strikeouts against Hillcrest. Madison Holtzapfel threw 5.1 innings, allowing five hits, five runs and striking out one and was the winning pitcher against Vestavia Hills. Madison Plunkett, Lauren Haskins and Allie Miller each had third inning home runs against Vestavia. Bubel and Mikayla Touhey each went 3-for-4 with three RBI. 

     

    Boys golf

    Notes: Hoover Invitational: Landon Wockenfuss shot a 4-over 76 and was tied for 7th out of 41 varsity players Blue Gray: The team placed 4th out of 27 teams and Landon Wockenfuss made All-Tournament.

     

    Boys soccer

    Last week: Lost to Vestavia Hills, 1-0.

    This week: Monday vs. Spain Park; Thursday vs. Pelham; Friday vs. Oak Mountain.

     

    Girls soccer

    Last week: Lost to Vestavia Hills, 3-1; Tied Mountain Brook, 1-1.

    This week: Tuesday at Briarwood Christian; Friday vs. Hoover.

    Notes: Mel Brannon scored the goal vs. Mountain Brook. In that game, Chloe Sims had eight saves and Nicole Carter blocked a shot late in the game to save a goal.

     

    Boys and girls tennis

    Last week: (Boys) Beat Pelham, 7-2; beat Gulf Shores, 5-4. (Girls) Lost to Pelham, 5-4; lost to Gulf Shores, 8-1

    This week: Tuesday at Oak Mountain (boys); Thursday vs. Oak Mountain (girls); Saturday at Oak Mountain Tourney (boys).

    Notes: Pelham: Singles winners: Daniel McCammon, Render, Price, Bell and a Doubles SWEEP! Gulf Shores: Singles winners: Daniel McCammon, Christopher Killingsworth, Asa Render, David Bell. Doubles winners: Killingsworth/Bell.
