Thompson Warriors Varsity Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against James Clemens

Thompson Warriors Varsity took the lead for good in the ninth inning to capture a back-and-forth game from James Clemens by a 10-9 score on Saturday. The game was tied at nine with Thompson Warriors Varsity batting in the top of the ninth when Caleb Ragland singled off of Jared Barnes, driving in one run.

Despite falling down by five runs in the fifth inning, James Clemens tried to fight back. James Clemens scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Garrett Brown in the fifth, a groundout by Laken Lansdell in the fifth, and a error in the sixth.

Thompson Warriors Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. With zero outs in the first inning Caleb Ragland drove in one run when he tripled.

Thompson Warriors Varsity knotted the game up at nine in the top of the seventh inning. Ragland singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the seventh inning, scoring one run.

Thompson Warriors Varsity scored three runs in the second inning. Thompson Warriors Varsity's big inning was driven by a single by Chris Lewis and a single by Breydon Edmondson.

James Clemens scored three runs in the sixth inning. James Clemens scored its runs on a error by Brown.

Drew Williams earned the win for Thompson Warriors Varsity. He pitched six innings, allowing nine runs, nine hits, striking out two, and walking one. Austin Sparks recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Thompson Warriors Varsity. Jared Barnes took the loss for James Clemens. He tossed three innings, giving up two runs, four hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Landon Gray started the game for James Clemens. He tossed one inning, surrendering three runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Thompson Warriors Varsity had 12 hits in the game. Ragland, Myles Brown, and JC Parker each collected multiple hits for Thompson Warriors Varsity. Ragland led Thompson Warriors Varsity with three runs batted in. He went 3-for-6 on the day.

James Clemens collected nine hits. Brown, Barnes, and Hill McCrory each collected multiple hits for James Clemens.
